The body of a deported Pakistani human rights activist has been recovered in Toronto, Canada. Her name is Karima Baloch (38). He had been missing since last Sunday. Toronto human rights groups have called for an investigation.
The woman from Pakistan’s restive western region of Balochistan was a fierce critic of the state and the military.
According to the BBC, Toronto police have been searching for him since he went missing on Sunday. Karima’s friends later reported finding her body.
Toronto police tweeted Monday that Karima was last seen on Bay Street in the West Queens Quay West area of the city last Sunday. Police later said in another tweet that Karima’s whereabouts had been “identified”. Karima Baloch’s friends and colleagues said her body had been identified. But the cause of his death was not immediately confirmed.
