International Desk: The Syrian Air Defense Unit has successfully repulsed and destroyed two Israeli guided missiles. Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Sunday.
Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit, head of the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria, made the announcement.
He said guided missiles were fired from two Israeli F-16s, but the Syrian Air Defense Forces immediately retaliated and two missiles were destroyed in mid-air. The wreckage of two missiles landed on the town of Sayyeda Zainab, south of the capital Damascus.
The Syrian Air Defense Unit has used the Russian-provided Buck-Mtui missile defense system to destroy Israeli-guided missiles.
This week, Israel launched three missile strikes on Syria. Earlier, the occupying forces launched two missile strikes on Syria on Wednesday and Monday. But each time, the Syrian military has been able to deal with Israeli missiles.
